The Ford Model A is an automobile produced by the Ford Motor Company from 1927 to 1931 as the direct successor to the enormously popular Model T, offered in a wider range of body styles with a more powerful four cylinder engine and a conventional sliding gear transmission. Nearly five million were built, restoring Ford's competitiveness against rivals that had overtaken the aging Model T in features and styling.
