For the 2000 model year the fender mounted radio antenna of the Navigator was integrated into the right rear window, while the interior received Nudo leather seating surfaces. The Navigator shared a front fascia grille design with the 1998 Town Car and the 2000 Lincoln LS, and it had no body panels in common with the Expedition forward of the windshield. It was built at the Michigan Assembly Plant in Wayne, Michigan. The first generation was a full size body on frame SUV, mechanically related to the Expedition and the 1997 F-Series.
