The 2012 MKX was the second year of the refreshed first generation, with a new interior, a new front end resembling the MKZ, and a 305 horsepower 3.7 liter DOHC V6, plus the MyLincoln Touch system introduced in 2011. It remained a rebadged variant of the Ford Edge crossover, a mid size luxury crossover SUV built on the CD3 platform, marketed between the Navigator and the sedans of Lincoln. The X in MKX stands for crossover.
