In 1973 the Mark IV received revised front bodywork, necessitated by the addition of five mile per hour bumpers, and the opera window, an almost universally specified option in 1972, became standard. The Luxury Group, offered from 1973 to 1981, added such details as velour upholstery. The Mark IV shared a chassis with the Ford Thunderbird through 1976 and was built at Wixom Assembly in Michigan. It was a two door personal luxury car marketed by the Lincoln division of Ford Motor Company.
