Jeep CJ-5 (rounded tub and boxed frame)

Automobiles

For 1976 the tub and frame were modified, the frame widening toward the rear and the body becoming more rounded, with a new windshield frame so that tops from 1955 to 1975 do not fit later cars, and the rear axle changed to an AMC unit. The frame became fully boxed in 1977. A GM Iron Duke four cylinder became the standard engine in 1980, and the model ended in 1983. Its model years run from 1976 to 1983.
