Early CJ-2As had front seats covered in olive drab vinyl, and around mid 1947 Slate Gray vinyl became available for certain color combinations, with Barcelona Red added later. Restorers and collectors refer to cars from mid 1946 to about mid 1947 as Early Civilian, and only minor changes were made after the mid 1947 models, so 1947 was the last year of significant evolution in the model before its long steady run to the end of production.
