Honda showed the fifth-generation CR-V in Detroit on 13 October 2016, and it went on sale across the United States from 21 December 2016 as a 2017 model. It used the compact global platform introduced on the tenth generation Civic, was offered in 5 and 7 seat variants outside North America, and was built at East Liberty, Ohio from November 2016 and at Greensburg, Indiana from February 2017. A refreshed model for 2020 added a hybrid powertrain in North America for the first time, and in China it was sold as the Honda Breeze. Each model year of this generation has its own page.
