The 2017 Honda CR-V was the first model year of the fifth generation, with U.S. sales beginning on 21 December 2016. It used the compact car architecture shared with the tenth generation Civic and Accord. Production began at East Liberty, Ohio in November 2016 and at Greensburg, Indiana in February 2017, and the car was launched in Thailand on 24 March 2017, in Indonesia on 27 April 2017 and in Malaysia on 12 July 2017. The CR-V Hybrid was unveiled at Auto Shanghai in April 2017.
