The vehicle was redesigned and launched in January 2000 for the 2000 model year on the new GMT800 platform, still shared with the full size pickups and SUVs. The GMT400 Tahoe was carried over into the 2000 model year as two Limited Edition models, while the GMC Yukon Denali was redesigned for the 2001 model year and the Cadillac Escalade for 2002. The Tahoe Limited was sold alongside the new Yukon.
