The Mark IV range was launched in early 1966 with new V format engines, the 4 having a 1,996 cc V4 and the 2,495 cc V6 unit, and servo assisted disc brakes on all wheels. Criticism of the handling of early examples led to radial ply tyres as standard on the larger engined version. An estate version of the Zephyr Mark IV was announced just in time for the London Motor Show in October 1966, and in November 1966 an export special 3.0 litre Zephyr was announced.
