The Transit Connect in 2026 was developed by Ford of Europe as a commercial vehicle on a dedicated platform, replacing the vans once made from the Ford Escort and Ford Courier. Its third generation was built by Volkswagen as a Caddy based van for Europe. The Transit Connect was Ford's compact panel van, developed by Ford of Europe as a dedicated commercial vehicle. It sat between the Transit Courier and the Transit Custom in the Ford Transit range.
