The Platinum name returned as a permanent higher end trim level for the Super Duty in 2013, after the F 150 in 2009. In 2013 Ford also reimbursed owners of Super Duty trucks and E Series vans with the 6.0 litre diesel for repairs to the exhaust gas recirculation system and other parts. Ford assembles the trucks at the Kentucky Truck Plant in Louisville and at Ohio Assembly in Avon Lake. The Super Duty is a dedicated heavy duty variant of the F Series, sold above the F 150 with Power Stroke diesel engines as an option.
