The Mondeo was discontinued in Australia in 2020, one of the markets that had received it from 2014, and the facelifted car for the 2020 model year went on sale in Europe. The fourth generation Mondeo was soon to be exclusively available in China and the Middle East as Ford's European arm moved to crossover SUVs. Europe's Mondeo continued to be built at Valencia, where production had moved from Genk after that plant closed in 2013.
