1997 Ford Mondeo

Automobiles

1997 was the first full year of the Mk II Mondeo, with the revised grille and larger wraparound lighting units, distinctive saloon rear lights with an additional reflector panel, and a mildly revised interior on the same basic dashboard architecture. The lowering of specification levels at the time made air conditioning and alloy wheels optional on UK Ghia models, which may have shown a wish to cut costs and recoup some of the development spending.
