The third generation Ka was marketed in Europe as the Ka+, introduced in June 2016 with deliveries starting later that year, with a single 1.2 litre engine in Studio and Zetec trims, and the plus sign showing that Ford saw it as a budget B segment car rather than an A segment car. Production of the European second generation Ka ended on 20 May 2016. In March 2016 it was introduced in Argentina. The third generation Ka was based on the global Ford B platform shared with the Fiesta.
