Additional 1.6 litre petrol and 1.8 litre diesel versions of the Ikon were launched at the end of 2002 and during 2003. The better equipped Flair version had power steering, electric windows, air conditioning, central locking, a tachometer, side impact beams and a new jeans blue colour. The Ikon was a small Ford sedan built on the Fiesta platform for markets where buyers wanted a sedan, such as India and South Africa. Ford sold the same basic design under the Fiesta and Ikon names depending on the country.
