The third generation Galaxy went on sale in mid 2015 with the same engines as the S-Max, one diesel in four states of tune and two petrol versions, a 1.5 litre of 160 horsepower and a 2.0 litre of 240 horsepower, the latter with the Powershift automatic only. It was slotted between the Tourneo Connect and the Tourneo Custom in the Ford range, and was the first Ford brand people carrier made outside North America. The Galaxy was a seven seat people carrier that Ford built for the European market, sharing its platform with the Mondeo in its later forms.
