1968 Ford Galaxie

Automobiles

The 1968 Galaxie had a new grille with the headlights arranged horizontally, though the body was essentially the same from the windshield back. Its long hood, short deck style, more upright roofline and notchback rear were followed, as was the trend for concealed headlights on the XL and LTD. The base V8 grew from 289 to 302 cubic inches, side marker lights were added, and 1968 was the first year a station wagon was marketed under the Galaxie name.
