In 1963 the XL Falcon, with improvements in durability and reliability gradually applied, saw sales gradually increase. The Falcon Squire station wagon featured simulated woodgrain exterior side and tailgate paneling, and the Falcon Futura was the top of the range sedan. The XL carried a new Thunderbird roofline and a heavier suspension with components from the Fairlane, as local design changes made for Australian conditions.
