The facelifted EF was introduced in August 1994 with a new curvaceous body shape while sharing its doors and most of its body structure with the earlier EA to ED series cars. A thoroughly redesigned interior included cup holders in all models, and a driver's airbag was made standard on all variants, a first for an Australian car. The 4.0 litre six was upgraded to 157 kilowatts, with a coil pack ignition replacing the distributor. Its model years run from 1994 to 1995.
