1952 Ford F-Series

Automobiles

For 1952 the builder's plate was attached to the inside of the glove box door. Although it predated the vehicle identification number, it identified the series, model year, assembly plant and production sequence, as well as the paint code and rear axle ratio. It was the last year of the first generation, which had been assembled at 16 North American plants from 1947 and was the only F-Series generation to use entirely flathead engines.
