The 1953 F-Series was distinguished by a two bar grille, and internally marked the 50th anniversary of Ford Motor Company with a commemorative emblem on the steering wheel horn button. It had a completely redesigned chassis and body, a shorter 110 inch wheelbase and a widened cab. The engine line was in transition, with a 101 horsepower inline six as standard and a 100 horsepower Flathead V8 as an option, which for one year only could be had with the new Ford-O-Matic transmission.
