The King Ranch trim was brought back for the 2020 model year, placed above the Platinum trim, with the King Ranch logo prominent on all three rows of seats, the floor mats and the scuff plates. The desert gold color introduced with it was discontinued for lack of interest. The 2020 Expeditions were recalled in April 2020 over a front passenger safety belt sensor defect affecting 1,368 vehicles built in late 2019.
