The Escort was revised in January 1995. It was still based on the old car but had new front lights, bonnet, wings and bumpers, and the Ford badge moved to the center of the boot lid. The entry engines were revised, with the 1.3 liter gaining the final Endura E version of the Valencia pushrod engine from the Fiesta and the Ka, and the 1.4 liter CVH replaced by the CVH PTE. Ride and handling were improved by a revised suspension setup.
