Because of its popularity with upfitters who convert the chassis into recreational vehicles, buses or other specialized vehicles, Ford went on offering the E Series as a cutaway chassis, a chassis cab and a stripped chassis. The 2018 E Series had a 6.8 litre V10 or a 6.2 litre V8. The E Series was Ford's full size van, sold as the Econoline and Club Wagon and as a cutaway chassis. It was the best selling full size van in the United States from 1980 until the Transit replaced the vans in 2014.
