For 2003 the E Series had an exterior update with the grille of the 2002 E 550 Super Duty, which moved the blue oval from the hood to the centre of the grille, and revised front turn signal lenses. The 4.2 litre V6 and the other engines were carried over, and Ford ended the E 550 after 2003. It was the best selling full size van in the United States from 1980 until the Transit replaced the vans in 2014. The E Series was Ford's full size van, sold as the Econoline and Club Wagon and as a cutaway chassis.
