For 2001 the Chateau trim was dropped and replaced by the E 150 Traveler, which, because of low sales, was dropped after the 2002 model year. The E Series of 2001 was a full size van with an eight hole oval grille, and was sold in several trims. It was the best selling full size van in the United States from 1980 until the Transit replaced the vans in 2014. The E Series was Ford's full size van, sold as the Econoline and Club Wagon and as a cutaway chassis.
