Before 1961 all Ford wagons had a two piece tailgate assembly in which the operator lifted the rear window and locked it in place with a support before dropping the tail gate, and the Country Sedan of 1960 had one. It was a full size wagon in the Galaxie class. The Country Sedan was the mid trim station wagon of the full size Ford range, with plain body sides. It was the cheaper wagon beside the woodgrain Country Squire and outsold the Squire in every year.
