For 1999 all Contours were equipped with a slightly larger fuel tank at 15.4 gallons, and the 2.0 liter four cylinder received an additional 5 horsepower. The SVT Contour engine rating rose 5 horsepower to 200 due to abrasive flow machining of the intake ports, and the SVT was offered in Tropic Green with new BF Goodrich tires. Seats were again altered for additional rear leg room, and the dash design was changed slightly.
