The second generation Bronco entered the full size SUV class, adapted directly from the Ford F-Series as a shortened F-100 4x4 on a 104 inch wheelbase, in competition with the Chevrolet K5 Blazer and the Dodge Ramcharger. It was developed as Project Shorthorn and postponed from 1974 because of the fuel crisis. It was a three door wagon with a lift off rear hardtop, with a 351M or 400 V8, and it overtook both rivals in sales. Each model year has its own page.
