In September 1993 a 1.5 liter inline four engine, which had been set only on the sister car AZ-3, was added to the Presso. At the same time the V6 car was set to need premium gasoline and its maximum output was raised by 5 PS to 145 PS. The Presso of 1993 was in its third year as the small sports hatchback of the Eunos stores, a counterpart of the Eunos Roadster. The Presso used the E platform of Mazda and a rear window curved in three dimensions.
