The Eunos 100 went on sale in October 1989 as the entry model of the Eunos dealer brand that Mazda was building as part of its plan to split its dealer network into several channels. It was a five door hatchback coupe, a badge engineered version of the Familia Astina that had gone on sale in February of that year, with colored bumper moldings and different wheel caps, a fuel tank of 50 liters and a fuel economy of 9.8 to 14.0 km per liter.
