The Coronet reappeared for the 1965 model year as the intermediate sized B body car on a 117 inch wheelbase, continuing what had been the Dodge Polara, which became a full size car once again. Dodge sold slightly over 209,000 of them. The base Coronet, the 440 and the Coronet 500 were offered, with a 225 slant six and V8 engines up to the 426 Hemi. Slightly over 33,300 Coronet 500 hardtops and convertibles were sold in 1965 with a standard V8, bucket seats and a padded dash.
