The Fireflite was restyled for 1959 and the electric clock became standard equipment, with a hand brake light as an option. Chrysler tried to attract buyers with a wide range of colors, but consumers shunned DeSoto as rumors circulated that the marque would be phased out. The Fireflite remained the upper mid range DeSoto beneath the Adventurer, in a full line of bodies that was now the last of the Forward Look generation.
