DeSoto Firedome (top line series)

Automobiles

As DeSoto's premium line the first Firedomes seated six and came as a sedan, station wagon, coupe and convertible, powered by a Hemi V8 that was DeSoto's first eight cylinder engine since 1931. The line was restyled for the 1953 model year, just before DeSoto's twenty fifth anniversary, and replaced the Custom nameplate at the top of the range. The top series seated six passengers and was a premium offering in DeSoto's range. Its model years run from 1952 to 1954.
