In its final year, 1960, the Adventurer lost its convertible but gained a four door hardtop and a sedan, and instead of a limited edition it became the top trim line of the two series DeSoto lineup. It was the only year the car came in a variety of colors instead of white, black and gold, and ram induction returned on quad four carburetor models. Total Adventurer production reached its best, 11,597 cars, though rumors that Chrysler would end DeSoto hurt sales.
