The Lexus SC is a two-door, four-passenger, front-engine, rear-drive grand touring coupe that Toyota built and Lexus sold for the 1991 to 2010 model years across two generations. The first generation debuted in 1991 as the V8-powered SC 400, with the six-cylinder SC 300 added in 1992, and it was styled largely at the Calty studio in California and built alongside the Japanese Toyota Soarer. It lasted until July 2000. The second generation, the SC 430, went into production in 2001 as a V8 retractable hardtop convertible coupe styled mainly in European studios. For years it was the only coupe in the Lexus range, and the LC replaced it.
