The Toyota version of the second generation was introduced on 5 April 2021, briefly named the GR 86, after the BRZ had debuted in November 2020. The second generation BRZ went on sale in the United States in late 2021, built, as before, at Subaru's plant. This was the first model year of the Toyota 86 (second generation, ZN8), 2021 to 2026, which took over from the Toyota 86 (first generation, ZN6); the 2022 model year follows it. Model year pages for the Toyota 86 run from 2012 to 2026.
