The Stag is the 2+2 sports tourer that the British Triumph Motor Company sold between 1970 and 1977, styled by the Italian designer Giovanni Michelotti. It started as a styling experiment cut and shaped from a 1963 or 1964 pre production 2000 saloon, retaining its suspension and driveline, and took Triumph's own 3 liter V8, first fitted to the Saab 99 in 1968, from 1970. Only 25,877 cars were produced, perhaps because the American market never took to the Stag. This site gives every generation and every model year its own page, in 2 generations: the Mark I (1970 to 1973); the Mark II (1973 to 1977).
