1947 Chrysler New Yorker

Automobiles

The 1947 New Yorker saw a minor redesign in tires, trim and instrument panel but otherwise looked like the 1946 car, since Chrysler made no significant changes with each model year from 1946 through 1948. The postwar Chryslers continued to offer Fluid Drive, with the New Yorker now offering the Presto Matic four speed semi automatic transmission, and the two door sedan came in three variations whose body styles were shared with DeSoto, Dodge and Plymouth.
