The 1958 model year was the last use of the FirePower Hemi in the 300D. The 392 cubic inch engine was tuned to 380 horsepower as standard, and thirty five cars were built with the very rare Bendix Electrojector fuel injection option. The 300D remained a sub-model of the New Yorker, so luxury amenities including leather, power steering and brakes and air conditioning were included. A 300D was driven to 156.387 miles per hour at Bonneville, and 618 hardtops and 191 convertibles were produced.
