For 1999 the Tahoe and Yukon were largely carryover, with the Cadillac Escalade introduced as a counterpart of the Yukon Denali, after further upgrades to the model line in 1998. The GMT400 based Tahoe was the last of its generation before the GMT800 debuted for 2000, after which only the Yukon Denali, the Escalade and the Tahoe Limited and Z71 continued to be produced from the older architecture.
