The fifth generation Suburban took styling cues from the late 1950s Chevrolet vehicles, with large oval ports above the grille for 1960 and 1961, and an independent front suspension that was new for 1960. The 2WD models introduced a torsion bar based suspension but returned to coil springs by 1963, and the Brazilian Veraneio was derived from it. One ton panel truck models were no longer available after 1966. Its model years run from 1960 to 1966.
