For 1995 Chevrolet renamed the K5 Blazer as the Chevrolet Tahoe, with the three door wagon joined by a five door wagon, a shorter wheelbase version of the Suburban with two rows of seating, which was the basis for the introductory Yukon Denali and Cadillac Escalade. A driver side airbag was introduced in 1995, with dual airbags following in 1997. The 1995 Suburban was in its fourth model year of the GMT400 generation and kept the three row, full pickup frame layout.
