The 1979 Chevrolet Nova marked the end of the line for the rear wheel drive Nova. The front end was revised with rectangular headlights and a new grille, matching that of the Pontiac Phoenix, and a modified horizontal bar grille contained vertical parking lamps. New chromed hood and fender moldings were installed, and the lineup was the same as in 1978, with the base hatchback, coupe and sedan, plus the Custom coupe and sedan.
