The sixth generation Corvette had new bodywork with exposed headlamps for the first time since 1962, revised suspension geometry, a larger passenger compartment and a 6.0 liter V8, and it was shorter than the C5 though on a slightly longer wheelbase. The Z06, ZR1, Grand Sport and 427 Convertible were sold in the family, and the C6.R racing car won at Le Mans and in the American Le Mans Series. Its model years run from 2005 to 2013.
