The 1978 model celebrated the 25th anniversary, with silver anniversary emblems on the nose and fuel door. A new fastback rear window was the most noticeable styling change and gave the ten year old body a fresh lease on life, and the dual snorkel air intake lifted the L82 engine to 220 horsepower. Two special editions marked the anniversary, a silver anniversary model and an Indy 500 pace car replica.
