The 2007 Escalade was the official vehicle of Super Bowl XL, and production of the redesigned Escalade began at Arlington Assembly in January 2006, priced from 57,280 dollars. The more expensive all wheel drive version was produced first, followed by the long wheelbase ESV and the EXT pickup, the latter sourced from the plant in Silao, Mexico. It uses an all aluminum 6.2 liter Vortec V8, the first mass produced pushrod engine with variable valve timing.
