In 2021 the G02 X4 was in its third year of sales, a compact luxury crossover and Sports Activity Coupe, offering the xDrive30i, the M40i, the X4 M and X4 M Competition at the top of the range. Parts available from M Performance could be fitted to the M Sport trim cars, such as carbon fiber mirrors, and the car was built at Spartanburg. The X4 sold in smaller numbers than the X3 but had its own following.
