In 2022 the X4 continued in its second generation, the G02, as BMW's Sports Activity Coupe built on the same platform as the G01 X3, with the xDrive30i and the M40i and the X4 M versions. The fourth year of the G02 coupe SUV saw it built at BMW's Spartanburg plant, as it had been since the first generation. It was an unchanged sports activity coupe, sold alongside the X3, the X5 and the X6. It was in the fourth year of the second generation.
